Bat Totem

Bat Totem

I've been working with totems off and on for about 15 years. I've always identified with Bat and had accepted it as my totem.

I haven't done any work with it for several years, and my life is now drastically different from when i first picked Bat.

So I decided to read up on what other animals represent and choose a new animal. I purchased a book on the subject which includes meanings for when different animals present themselves to you in your life. That same day, I saw a concrete wall with a water mark that resembled a bear. I went home and read what the appearance meant. The book gave several suggestions, one of them saying that i should look within myself for answers rather than reading to find what I was looking for. Since I was looking for my totem, I decided to put the book down for the time being.

Two nights later, I sat on my porch, just enjoying the fresh air, when a bat flew right over my head and off into the night. I think Bat still has some lessons for me.

Hello Kara,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the bat.

I have no doubt the bat has much to share in its own good time.

Bat totems have non-linear timing, and their lessons are often extraordinarily unique. Conversely, those who identify the bat as a totem are equally unique. :)

Bat blessings,
Avia
