Pelicans Help Me Out

Meaningful Pelican

Pelicans are major spirtual guidance counselors in this school that is my life. They have taught me how to see beneath the surface of things to find good things for my imagination to feed on. And their pouch/gullets remind me I can savor those good things too. No need to gobble or rush. Plenty of allowance for me.

Maybe this might inspire you, Avia, to write something about the symbolism of the pelicans. I noticed you have a few pictures of pelicans on your photo blog and flickr. I thought that was interesting and cool. What do pelicans symbolize in your world, Avia? I would not say the pelican is my totem, but I would say they always make me smile and take note of my emotional status.

Avia's Response to
Inquiry About Pelican Symbolism

Rock on, Deanna! Synchronistically, I just spent time in the Gulf not too long ago and was utterly enchanted with the pelicans!!

Thanks for sharing your post, and indeed it does inspire me to write a few observations about these magnificent birds!

An Important Note About Signs, Symbols and Their Meanings

Signs and symbols cultivate their meanings according to culture, context, passage of time in society as well as mass societal opinion. What's cool and highly important is that signs and symbols earn their most powerful meanings from our own personal perspectives.

This website strives to provide you with the best, time-honored information when defining signs and symbols. However, in the final analysis, "Beauty (and symbolism) is in the eye of the beholder."

Having said that, it's in our best interest to invest the time to do personal research on symbolic events happening to us.
