Searching for Wolf Symbolism and Wolf Meaning in my Life

Wolf has been appearing to me everywhere. The new Wolfman movie, my friend's new dog looks exactly like a wolf, I see images of wolves everywhere, wolf flags, and I just started a new book - the first page mentions a wolf! Everywhere! So, I do what you always tell people to do - I stopped to contemplate the meaning of the wolf and how that meaning relates to my life at this time.

I am inbetween right now. I mean, things are going well, but I feel like there is something more, but not sure what it is. so, in-between, is the best description. I'm really clueless about the next step too. Anyway, with this in mind, I read your page on Wolf Totem and wolf symbolism. I like your thoughts about communication, how just a look from the Alpha can convey "true grit" and real business. That made me want that for myself. Often I feel weak and I lack confidence. The wolf makes me feel stronger, braver, and even kind of mysterious - all feelings I like very much. So, after thinking about it for awhile, and reading your thoughts too, I believe these wolves I keep seeing are a message for me to communicate more authority.

I think the wolf symbolizes a special kind of inner power - or knowing that I am more than what meets the eye, and maybe I should focus more on communicating my unique talents. Obviously I'm still working out all the possibilities of the wolf and the wolf symbolism as it applies to my life, but your website really helped me get the ball rolling. Thanks!

Wolf Names In Native American
by: INOLA

If you go to websites you can find a native american name for wolf that you could give yourself. My wolf name is INOLA (IH-NO- LAH), which in Chereokee means "black fox". The wolf is a symbol of power and loyalty so chose your name carefully.

Tearful praise for this post!
by: Anonymous

I howled in my heart as I read about the lesson you learned from your wolf. The passionate connection I also feel with these noble creatures mirrors your journey's location as being "inbetween" past and future as well as the message of growing communication. I also sense the loyalty to family and an inner knowing of personal worth and purpose. When I found this post, I was seeking greater understanding of the wolf's symbolism and envisioning a painting I want to create and hang on my livingroom wall as representing the essence of my spiritual connection to the earth. Your comments and story were so heartfelt that I've copied it for my collection of inspiring writings. Thank you for sharing this most intimate experience you had with Navarre!

Soul mate wolf
by: Denise

I had as my companion for 14 years a magical gray wolf named Navarre. I adopted him when he was just two weeks old, bottle fed him every two hours when he was a cub, and carried him with me in a papoose on my back until he was old enough to stay at my farm on his own.

I have had a strong bond with several animals during my 60 years, but never one as profound as the one with Navarre. He was my child, my friend, and my protector. Yet he was a fierce individual. He considered himself my equal, yet he would acquiesce to my wishes if I presented them with respect.

Navarre was also my teacher. When he was bearly six months old, he taught me to howl. We sat together in the pasture, and he howled, then allowed me to repeat it. Again and again, we went through the lesson until he was satisfied that I had finally learned to howl properly. Then he harmonized with me to show his approval.

There is no doubt in my mind that wolves have the power of deductive reasoning. I watched Navarre figure out how to accomplish things that even some humans couldn't have solved.

Navarre was also passionately affectionate. He would howl endlessly when I was gone from the farm, my neighbors said. And when I returned home, he would leap up, wrap his "arms" around me, and give me wolf kisses. On occasion, the 36-inch, 100-pound beast became a lap wolf, and I would sit there, looking up into those great yellow eyes, hoping he would soon get over whatever was troubling him and go play with the cats!

Sadly, I lost Navarre in 2008 at age 14 -- two years longer than wolves normally live. He is buried under his favorite tree in the same spot where he had dug a comfortable hole in which to lie in the cool shade.

A hawk appeared shortly after Navarre passed, and it has watched over me ever since.

inbetween
by: Anonymous

I too feel as if I'm inbetween something. I feel this constant sense of not knowing what to do next. It's confusing and sometimes I can only tell myself to relax. Yet, I feel as if I am also walking with an even deeper sense of integrity within myself. I'm working on my confidence and also trying to learn how to express my true feelings to others. I have a problem asserting myself and tend to avoid interacting with other people in order to not feel unappreciated. I want to just live my normal life and wish other people could be more considerate. Unfortunately, my temper fires back after I've had enough, and the real point gets lost in the misunderstanding.
I have also always had a fascination with the moon, but never really associated it with any particular animal. Now that I feel this graceful and ferocious wolf in my life, the night sky glows even brighter with the moonlight.
