Celtic Symbols and Signs Introduction Page: For centuries, Celtic symbols and signs held incredible power for the ancient Celts in every way of life. Today, we can learn about this power and utilize it by learning the language of Celtic symbols.

What Are Celtic Symbols?

The word “Celtic” refers to people who lived in Britain and Western Europe from 500 BC and 400 AD. Celts were of the Iron Age and lived in small villages which were led by warrior chiefs.

The written records remaining from the Celts of Europe are scant, therefore signs and symbols can be hard to determine and trace.

Many facts come by way of the Romans, who conquered the Celtic lands during the rise of the Roman Empire.

Regardless, thanks to time-honored traditions, (like story-telling) enough history was salvaged, and the Celtic heritage remains strong.

In honor of the bravery and magic of the Celts, and to celebrate their rich history, I now provide you with a wealth of information.

About Celtic Symbol Citations on This Site

Note: Whenever possible, I have cited my sources of information (even when it’s just my own observations or from my personal sources such as family and friends). To the best of my ability, I strive to provide the most accurate information on Celtic symbolism and wisdom. Alas, history has a funny way of getting distorted…especially over a few thousand years.

If you find inconsistencies between the Celtic information on Whats-Your-Sign.com and your own research, don’t freak out.

Keep researching, do your best to find the common threads to all your sources that help substantiate your own beliefs/ideals. Sometimes answers simply can’t be 100% cookie-cutter clear.

In some instances, I rather think that’s a good thing. Gaps in concrete evidence often allow our larger selves (our spirit, intuition, creativity) to fill in the blanks. Having said all that, just click the images or links below to get what you need.
