Tips To Raising Vibrations During The Holidays

Last Updated on December 17, 2022 by Avia

The holidays can be a humdinger in terms of stress, chaos, and spinning out of comfort zones.  Shopping, working during the holidays, to-do lists, painful memories, can all lower our vibrations.  Alternatively, the holidays pose beautiful experiences.  Watching smiles spread across children’s faces, spending time with family, catching snowflakes on our tongues, or just warming up with a comforting cup of cocoa.  All of your “favorite things” as Julia Andrews crooned are exceptional ways to start raising vibrations during the holidays.

No matter how you’re feeling this holiday season, it’s a good idea to check in with your energy and keep your vibrations balanced.  Why? Because doing so will keep you healthy, emotionally stable, and grounded during the hectic holiday moments.

Check Your Vibrations During the Holidays

Shopping, Christmas card lists, parties, in-laws, oh my! Those things alone might put you on “tilt” during the holidays.  Then there’s work – not everybody has the good fortune to have a break during the holidays.  Furthermore, if you have to work, you might need the money.  Finances play a huge role in vibrational, emotional, and energetic health.  Toss all these things together, shake them up and you get a mad-salad of wonky energy.  That’s why it’s a good idea to stop, drop and roll into your vibrations – check in with how you’re feeling.  Get a set-point so you can assess and address your energy levels.

To start, ponder whether or not your vibration is high or low right now. It all boils down to how you feel, and what your daily life during the holidays is like in the moment. When you have high vibrations, you may feel exuberant and full of excitement.  Maybe you’re game for any adventure, from making snow angels to starting a gingerbread baking marathon.  The holidays are a great time to feel joy, love, and elation washing over you.  You might find that you can’t help smiling and connecting with holiday cheer.  These are all definitive signs your vibrations are flying high.

Alternatively, you may have a sudden bout of the crankies.  Perhaps you spontaneously get irritable, lash out, or just feel downright hatred for everything in your midst.  That’s nothing to be ashamed of.  Believe me – I have those moments too.  It’s human nature.  If you find your mood tanking, have feelings of anger, panic or anxiety – it’s pretty clear your vibration is low.

Now, I realize it’s a no-brainer that if you feel positive then your vibration is on the up and up.  Vice versa, if you feel negative, your vibes are going aground.  The point is to “check under the hood” – observe within – get a reading for your energy levels.  Doing this will assist you in proactively making adjustments to shift your vibrations.  Once you know where your vibrational level is, you can start making changes.  If you’re feeling low, read on for tips on how to raise your vibrations during the holidays.

Get Thankful

Sometimes it can be hard to find stuff to be grateful for. I get it.  Maybe you don’t have a pot to piss in or have a window to throw it out of.  If you’re flat broke during the holidays, that’s a pickle – especially if you want to do things or give your kids the perfect toy.  But what’s important to remember is it’s not the money we have (or don’t have) and the holidays aren’t about giving or getting gifts.

Attitude of Gratitude (Old School)

Back in the old days, the holidays were a time of gathering and giving thanks for good crops, cooperative weather, healthy family members, and all the bounty the divine forces of the universe provided.  Keep this in mind.  Even if all you have to be grateful for is a hot meal, or a comfy pillow to rest your head on … cling to that, give thanks and be grateful.  An attitude of gratitude may sound cliché, but it goes a long way towards raising vibrations during the holidays.

Practice gratitude and be appreciative of what you already have in your life. This enhances your vibrations even when you’re feeling stressed to the max, feeling blue, or getting anxious this time of year.

In my lowest of lows, my dogs are my vibrational salvation.  I’m always grateful for their presence (even when they are little monsters – which they can be at times).  If you think you’ve got nothing to be grateful for – grab your dog or cat.  Better yet, adopt a pet, and give it all the love you have.  They will repay your adoration by reminding you about the simple things in life.  Pets are catalysts for gratitude.  They show us how we can be so happy and thankful for the littlest things.

Give Back

If you want to raise your vibration during the holidays – this is the perfect time to give back.  There are so many people right now who are in need.  The best way to “get high” and get back in vibrational harmony is to help others.  Help out your community.  Contribute to a toy drive for needy kids.  Serve dinner at a homeless shelter. Donate money or time to people or organizations deserving of your contribution.  You get the idea.  When you consciously pay it forward, you will experience an incredible shift in your vibration.

Take Care of You

With all the rustle-hustle-bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to lose track of self-care. Don’t let the holidays overwhelm you to the extent you’re neglecting yourself.  Keep your diet as clean as possible (even though I highly recommend indulging in holiday treats!).  Just keep festivities in moderation, and keep an eye out for your personal health and wellbeing. Drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, try to keep moving to keep your blood flowing and your body flexy.  Don’t let the holidays ramrod your entire health regime. Splurge, for sure – because the holidays only happen once a year.  However, don’t splurge to the point where it triggers a celebratory coma or causes your vibrations to plummet.

Visit the Meditation Station (Meditations for the Holidays)

If the holidays have you pulling your hair out and bringing your vibrations down, it’s time to take time out and get into meditation mode.  Now, I understand that meditation isn’t for everybody.  Some folks simply can’t still themselves enough to get into theta brain waves (the state of mind that induces relaxation, or even nirvana during meditation).

Nevertheless, there are different types of holiday meditations you can practice during the holidays that can elevate your vibes.  Here are a few holiday-centric meditations that might help you raise your vibrations.

Jingle Your Bells Meditation

Did you know meditating to music is one of the best ways to raise your vibration during the holidays?  Even making music with sleigh bells or going to a drumming circle can have a hugely meditative and positive impact on your energy.  One meditation I love this time of year is ringing one bell and following that sound with my mind until it disappears into the atmosphere.  Focusing on that single ringtone, and chasing it until it dissipates can be calming as well as revolutionary in transforming your energy.

“Flame ON!” Meditation

The holidays are a time of lighting candles.  Whether flicking your Bick for memorial candles or firing up a menorah, candle flame is a brilliant way to meditate during the holiday season.  Focus on the flame.  Watch it dance and flicker. See how it transforms – as if it is alive (which it is).  Visualize yourself melting into the flame and into the candle wax. See your energy transforming in symbiotic sync with the flickering light.  Realize the life and heat you are meditating upon is a microcosm of the macrocosm of your life and the universe. Candlelight is magic, and when meditated upon, it can coax incredible transformation in your mood, energy and vibration.

Connect with Ghosts of Christmas’ Past Meditation

For many (self included), the holidays can be a tremendous bummer because we are deeply missing loved ones who have passed on.  Thankfully, when a dearly beloved departs this physical earth – that doesn’t mean they are gone.  The holidays are a perfect time to connect with your loved ones, meditate upon them, send them messages with your heart and mind.  Remember, those who are not physically with you to celebrate the season are still by your side. Saying devotionals in a calm, meditative state can garner deep connections – especially during the holidays.  This can be extremely healing for you – and your loved ones who receive your messages will be so thankful you made the effort to connect with them. Trust me on this one.

The Last Word on Raising Vibrations During the Holidays

No matter what your attitude is about holidays – or how you celebrate them – do me a favor.  Take care of yourself.  Realize that this celebratory season is rife with opportunities to grow, improve, experience joy, and learn new ways to experience the wonders of the divine.  You don’t have to spend a ton of money to feel the spirit of the season.  Neither do you have to spend 4 hours in meditation to raise your vibrations.  Sometimes all it takes is giving thanks, lighting a candle for a loved one, or petting your pup to harmonize your energy and get in-step with the joyful holiday vibe.  I’m sending you all the best, and hoping your holidays are replete with high-vibrations and happy times.  As always, thank you for reading.
